This Game Is KILLER: FRANCHISE OF FEAR is a chaotic, horror-themed party game where an old, abandoned family restaurant complex suddenly becomes significantly more dangerous than it appears. An animatronic killer machine is on the loose, and as part of the restoration team, you must survive the night by cooperating, monitoring the building, and properly utilizing the limited power. This is a board game that immediately sets the mood: high pace, quick decisions, and a constantly present feeling that something is about to go really wrong.
The game is based on the same easily accessible foundation as the This Game Is KILLER series, but here the experience gets a clear twist through positioning, cameras, locked doors, and resource management. You try to get through five deadly hours, while Snapjaw moves through the restaurant and the threat constantly creeps closer. The rules are easy to get into, but each round is still full of misinterpretations, panic moves, and moments where someone realizes a little too late that they are in completely the wrong place.
What makes FRANCHISE OF FEAR extra fun is that it's semi-cooperative in a way that truly creates tension around the table. Several players can survive, but stopping Snapjaw isn't always as clean or heroic as one might have hoped. Sometimes you save the group. Sometimes you accidentally cause someone else's death along the way. This balance between cooperation, chaos, and dark humor makes the game very suitable for game nights where you want a lot of reactions and to quickly start again after a round.
The playtime of around 15 minutes is a big part of the charm. Someone dies quickly, everyone laughs, someone blames someone else, and shortly thereafter the group wants to play again. This is a board game and party game that works particularly well for larger groups who want an easy-to-learn but memorable experience, preferably with a bit of a horror feel and a lot of interaction. For friends who like high-energy board games, unexpected twists, and a clear thematic twist, this is a very accurate choice.
