In Point Salad, you take on the role of a hungry customer trying to push your way to an overflowing salad bar to snatch limited ingredients. You build your salad by placing overlapping cards in front of you. Each ingredient has unique scoring conditions, and the quantity of each ingredient is severely limited—the waiters never seem to refill the salad bar—so you have to hurry and grab the ingredients that will make your salad the best!

More specifically, using a rondel mechanism, you move your pawn on your turn to one of the three stations at the salad bar in front of you, perform the action corresponding to that station, and take the ingredient located there. If another player's pawn is already at the station you want to visit, you can bump them—but this allows them to leave the queue and move to any empty station, giving them a free ingredient and action.
