Pagan: Fate of Roanoke is an expandable deduction card game set in colonial America in 1587.
At the core of this asymmetric game is the struggle of a witch against a witch hunter. While the witch strives to complete a ritual of re-wilding, the hunter seeks to uncover her true identity among nine villagers. Each turn, players use their action pawns on active villagers to draw cards, play cards, and gain influence. Each player has their own varying fifty-card deck; with these cards, the witch can brew powerful potions, enhance her familiar, and cast enchantments, while the witch hunter recruits allies, takes over strategic locations, and investigates the villagers without mercy.
As the Witch, your goal is to gather enough secrets to perform a ritual so powerful that the entire region falls under your spell and Mother Nature reclaims the island. As the Hunter, you gather allies and support to bring the Witch to justice before her deadly ritual is completed.
The prototype won the Danish design award Otto at Fastaval for best game 2018.
