In "Between Two Cities", you and your fellow players take on the role of city architects in an engaging 30-minute strategy game for 1-7 players. The balance between cooperation and strategy is central, where each tile you place contributes to building a growing city. Work together with the player to your left to build one city center, while also collaborating with the player to your right to build another city center. Choose two tiles from your hand each turn, then decide with your partners which of the chosen tiles will be placed in your two cities. At the end of the game, each city is valued for its architectural grandeur, and your final score will be the score of the city you helped design that received the lower score. The player with the highest final score wins the game.
The Essential Edition of "Between Two Cities" combines the components from the original game and the "Capitals" expansion into a unified experience. Despite a larger box than the original game, updated art on some tiles, and a score pad instead of a board, this version introduces no new game mechanics. If you already own "Between Two Cities" and the "Capitals" expansion, you already have everything on offer.
