"Architects of the West Kingdom" is set at the end of the Carolingian Empire, around 850 AD. As royal architects, players compete to impress their king and maintain their noble status by building various landmarks in his new domains. Players must gather raw materials, hire apprentices, and keep a watchful eye on their workforce. These are treacherous times, and rival architects will stop at nothing to hinder your success. Will you remain virtuous, or fall in with thieves and black marketeers? The goal of "Architects of the West Kingdom" is to have the most Victory Points (VP) when the game ends. Points are earned by constructing various buildings and working on the Archbishop's Cathedral. Throughout the game, you will face many moral decisions, but only at the game's end will your virtue be judged.
