Yggdrasil Burns is a dark, standalone role-playing game set in a post-apocalyptic Scandinavia after the world tree Yggdrasil has burned to ashes. In this alternate future, the Christian God has avenged the Vikings' plundering of monasteries and villages in England and France – through fire, disease, and decay. The gods are chained in Hel, while Fenrir and Jörmungandr roam freely over a dying land.

The Nordic soil is scorched, the rivers poisoned, and survival is all that remains. The player characters are the last heathens, hunted by Bishop Ansgar – sent to force the survivors into baptism, regardless of their will. In this brutal world, there is no salvation, only death.

The game is created under a third-party license for Mörk Borg, completely standalone but fully compatible. With illustrations and art direction by Johan Nohr and an introductory adventure by Pelle Nilsson, Yggdrasil Burns is a raw and beautiful addition for anyone who loves dark Nordic fantasy.
