In The Quacks of Quedlinburg, players are quacks – or charlatans – who concoct their own secret brews by adding ingredients one at a time. But be careful what you add, because a little too much of one thing or another can spoil the whole mixture!

Each player has their own bag of ingredient tokens. During each round, they simultaneously draw tokens from their bags and place them into their cauldrons. The higher the value of the drawn token, the further it is placed in the cauldron's swirling pattern, increasing the brew's value. Push your luck as far as you can, but if you add too many cherry bombs, your cauldron explodes!

At the end of each round, players receive victory points and coins to spend on new ingredients, depending on how well they managed to fill their cauldrons. However, players whose cauldrons exploded must choose between points or coins – not both! The player with the most victory points after nine rounds wins the game.
