19th Century America: You are a rancher driving your cattle from Texas to Kansas, where you send them on by train to be sold. You do this several times a year, earning you victory points and money. When you arrive in Kansas, you naturally want your most valuable cattle in the herd. But the journey is long, and "The Great Western Trail" requires you to both take care of your herd and make use of the various resting places and buildings along the way. You want to hire capable staff, cowboys to take care of the herd, craftsmen to build your own buildings along the way, or engineers for the vital railway.
