You are a respectable 1920s socialite striving to serve the finest morning tea!
Throughout Britain, eleven o'clock in the morning is the perfect time to take a break and have a bite to eat. In Elevenses: Tea for Two, you control your servants by playing cards to prepare your spread – sandwiches, biscuits, cakes – and don't forget the tea! When the clock strikes eleven, the hostess with the best-prepared tea wins!
Will your morning tea be the talk of the town?
Game Overview: In each game of Tea for Two, two players compete to serve the best morning tea. They put their servants to work in hopes that they will lay out the best spread the town has ever seen.
This is done by playing cards to the table, with each card representing a delicious part of a highly esteemed tea party.
Players begin the game with two Morning Tea cards in hand. The remaining cards will either be in a face-down pile, known as the Kitchen, or in a face-up row, known as the Pantry.
Each Morning Tea card has a special action that is performed when it is played.
Cards must be played to a specific position in the player's spread (row) of cards. Players usually try to play cards that belong together next to each other. If they do not, more preparation time must be used to make the servants work even harder.
The game ends when a player plays the Elevenses card. This means that it is now eleven o'clock, the hour guests begin to arrive. Players then compare the value of their Morning Tea cards in front of them. The player with the best spread wins the game - and the respect of the entire village - by having held the finest morning tea of all!
