Apocalypse

Apocalypse is a tactical card game where the goal is to avoid taking tricks – while the world slowly ends. It's a party game with a classic trick-taking feel, but with a twist that makes each round more unpredictable.
Each suit represents one of the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse, and each player must follow suit if possible. Under normal circumstances, the highest card wins the trick – but here, that's something you'd rather avoid. Instead, you need to play smart, get rid of dangerous cards, and time your moves correctly.
The game's unique mechanic revolves around the Horsemen tokens in the middle. Each time a card is played, a token is flipped, and when all are activated, the Apocalypse is triggered. Then the rules are temporarily turned upside down: the lowest card wins instead. This creates a dynamic pace where players constantly have to adapt their strategy.
Two special cards further heighten the tension. The Five can postpone the Apocalypse by resetting a token – but winning a trick with it costs significantly more in points. The Zero (0) provides additional tactical possibilities and risks, depending on how it is used in the game.
What makes Apocalypse particularly memorable is how it blends simple rules with constant change. Each trick feels like a small puzzle where timing and intuition are decisive.
Apocalypse is perfect for those who enjoy card games with a twist, where classic mechanics meet new ideas – and where each game session offers both laughter and frustration in equal measure.
