In The Wandering Towers, your goal is to get all your wizards home to Raven Castle before everyone else.
To set up the game, place the game board tiles in a circle, Raven Castle in its starting position, and the nine towers clockwise from the castle; five of the towers have a raven shield on them. Distribute the players' wizards — 3-5 depending on the number of players — onto the towers, and deal three cards to each player. On your turn, you play one movement card from your hand, then play a second movement card, and then refill your hand to three cards. The cards allow you to move one of your wizards, a tower, or either a tower or a wizard. Movements are always clockwise; sometimes the movement is a specific number of steps, and sometimes it is determined by a die roll, where you can roll the die up to the number of times indicated on your card.
When you move a tower, all wizards on that tower are carried forward — and you can move a tower on top of another tower, thereby capturing all wizards on the lower tower. When you capture one or more wizards, you fill one of your magic flasks; you must fill all your flasks to win. In addition, you can use filled flasks to cast one of the magic spells active in the game, with the simplest ones allowing you to move a wizard or a tower. (Used flasks still count as filled.) To free your wizard, you must move the upper part of the tower away.
If you land a wizard in Raven Castle with the exact number of steps, your turn ends and Raven Castle then moves on the game board to the next empty space or tower with a raven shield. The player who places their last wizard on Raven Castle and has filled all their flasks wins the game.
