Tea Garden is a fantastic game by the talented debut designer Tomáš Holek, who also works on projects for the largest Czech publishers. The game brilliantly combines deck-building and worker-placement, but what truly stands out is the resource management. In Tea Garden, you pay with tea leaves – green or black (fermented). The value of green tea leaves decreases each round, while the value of black tea leaves increases. However, you cannot obtain black tea leaves directly; you must exchange green tea leaves for black ones. This simple but ingenious mechanism creates a unique dynamic that is easy to fall in love with.
