Mamma Mia! is a charming and fast-paced card game designed by Uwe Rosenberg, where players take on the role of pizza chefs in a hectic kitchen. The game combines strategy, memory, and a touch of luck as you try to fulfill pizza orders with the right ingredients.
Each player starts with eight different pizza orders and a hand of ingredient cards representing toppings like pepperoni, mushrooms, pineapple, bell peppers, and olives. During their turn, a player plays one or more ingredient cards of the same type into a common pile, called the "oven," and can choose to add an order card if they believe the correct ingredients are available. After the draw pile is exhausted, the oven pile is flipped, and orders are checked in turn to see if they can be fulfilled with the available ingredients. If an order cannot be fulfilled, the player can supplement it with cards from their hand or postpone the order until the next round.
The game is played over three rounds, and the player who manages to fulfill the most orders wins. Mamma Mia! is known for its simple yet engaging mechanics and is suitable for both families and gaming enthusiasts who appreciate light strategic games.
