Paris is a two-player board game by José Antonio Abascal with Parisian aesthetics by artist Oriol Hernández. The game takes place in late 19th-century Paris during the 1889 World's Fair, when electricity became a hot topic. Electricity spread across the city, creating the beautiful nighttime Parisian streets of today, giving Paris the nickname "La Cité de la Lumière", the city of light.
The most illuminated buildings are admired most by passers-by. In the first phase, players can either place tiles or expand their supply of buildings. The cobblestone tiles are divided into four random spaces (their color, the opponent's color, a streetlight, or a mixed color area where both players can build).
In the second phase, players build on their colors or the mixed spaces to place their buildings as close as possible to as many streetlights as possible. More streetlights generate more admiration and points. The player with the best-illuminated buildings wins the game and steals the hearts of Parisians.
