Beast

Welcome to the Northern Wasteland, a place where nature remains unexplored, mysterious, and dangerous. When humans first arrived, they thought they had found an untouched paradise, filled with lush forests, lakes teeming with fish, and cold fresh water flowing down from the mountains. But as their settlements grew and the surrounding forests thinned, nature responded with resistance. Great creatures known as Beasts appeared, and with their claws, jaws, and mysterious powers, they posed an incredible threat to humans. To protect the settlements, humans hired specialized hunters, whose task was to track and kill the Beasts before too many of their kin lost their lives.

The Beast uses a deck of direction cards to move through forests, swamps, and caves, employing cunning and deception to conceal its path from the hunters. But when a hunter moves over a location where the Beast has previously been, a trail is formed. Only when a hunter searches a location or when the Beast itself attacks an unsuspecting target is the Beast's actual position revealed. Additionally, each hunter only has one chance to search each round, making it a tense and difficult decision. Hunters rarely have full information about whether the trail they are following contains the Beast's actual position or if the trail has already gone cold.

Every action you take in this game is done by playing a card from your hand (a maximum of two cards per turn). This means that if a player wants to search, attack, or move, they must have a card in hand that allows them to do so. Before each round, both the hunters and the Beast participate in a draft for the most important cards. All action cards can be used by both the Beast and the hunters.

To win this game, you must either cooperate all the way if you play as a hunter or skillfully outsmart your opponents if you play as the Beast. On their own, the hunters are never stronger than the Beast. Only when the hunters communicate, plan, and coordinate their actions can they bring down the Beast before it's too late.
