In Ride the Rails, you invest in railway companies, build railway tracks across America, and transport passengers to as many cities as possible. Each of the 6 rounds consists of 3 phases:
Take a share: Each player must choose any locomotive from the available range of railway companies as a share in that railway company.
Build railway tracks: Each player can build railway tracks in companies in which they own at least one share.
Ride the rails: Each player transports a passenger to a city and pays dividends (points) to all shareholders.
Each round, a new railway company is introduced into the game, and each railway company has its own special rules for placement! Deliver passengers to as many cities as possible to earn the most points. Be careful on your journeys, as shareholders in the railway companies you use will also receive points!
Ride the Rails is a game with simple rules (only 1 sheet of paper) with varied strategies and tactics for 3 to 5 players, aged 12 and older, and takes approximately one hour to play. Contents include (subject to change): 1 game board, 5 player tokens, 162 wooden locomotives, 52 wooden passengers, 7 tracking tokens, 15 player tokens, 1 round marker, and 1 rule sheet.
